Turnitin and Plagiarism Reports in Nepal: How Students Should Read Them

Similarity is not automatically plagiarism. References, templates, quoted text and common phrases can raise the percentage without misconduct.
Read the matches, not only the percentage
Open the report and inspect highlighted sections. Ask whether your wording or structure is too close to a source, or whether the match is properly cited.
What usually needs fixing
Copied blocks without quotation marks.
Paraphrases that keep the source structure.
Missing in-text citations.
References or old drafts matching previous work.
Reduce similarity ethically
Rewrite flagged passages in your own structure, add citations, reduce unnecessary quotations and ensure every borrowed idea is credited. Do not chase zero; chase honest originality.
