Students arrive at a thesis knowing their programme but not knowing what a thesis in their subject actually looks like in Nepal — what data exists, what an examiner in that faculty expects, and which questions are answerable here rather than only in the literature. The differences between faculties are larger than students expect. A management thesis at TU is a hypothesis-testing document built on NEPSE and NRB data and defended on its statistics. A nursing thesis is an ethics-approved primary study that cannot begin until an IRC clears it. An engineering thesis is an artefact plus a report, judged on whether the thing works. Advice written for one of those is actively misleading in another.

Students usually arrive with a question and then discover the data does not exist for it. Every strong Nepali thesis is built on a data source that was reachable, and the ones that fail are almost always failing on access rather than on ideas.
The feasibility ratings above are about Nepal specifically, not about intellectual difficulty. "Demanding" usually means a permission, an ethics approval or a season stands between you and your first data point. That is survivable if you start the permission on day one and fatal if you start it in month three. "Straightforward" means the data is already published or collectable by you alone.
Then check the department library before committing. A topic completed in your own department in the last three years is the cheapest rejection there is, and fifteen minutes of checking avoids it.
A bachelor's project or dissertation is asked to demonstrate that you can run a method correctly end to end. Originality is welcome but not the bar; a clean, well-documented application of a standard technique to a local case is a good bachelor's thesis, and examiners mark the execution.
A master's thesis has to add something. Not a large something, but a stated gap and a defensible claim to have narrowed it. This is where the literature review stops being a summary and starts being an argument, and where students who write a good undergraduate-style review get their first serious round of comments back.
A PhD or MPhil is judged on contribution to knowledge and on your command of the field, which changes the whole shape of the work. The review must be exhaustive rather than representative, the method must be justified against the alternatives you rejected, and you are expected to be able to defend the epistemology, not just the statistics.

No, and it varies by programme and batch. Some run a dissertation, some a project report, some offer a choice between a thesis and additional coursework. Your curriculum document is the authority — check it before planning around what a senior told you.
Longer than students plan for. Institutional Review Committee review runs on a meeting cycle rather than a queue, and studies needing Nepal Health Research Council approval add another stage. Treat approval as a scheduled phase of the project with its own start date, not as paperwork you do once the protocol is finished.
You can, and it is usually a bad trade. A supervisor outside their area gives slower, vaguer feedback and cannot warn you about the pitfalls of a method they have not used. Pick from the overlap between what interests you and what your available supervisors actually work on.
