Purbanchal University Thesis and Dissertation Format: What PU Publishes, and What Your Campus Confirms

19 October 2026 · 7 min read

Purbanchal University thesis rules can be hard to find online, because there is no single university-wide thesis format PDF on the main PU site. Thesis, dissertation and internship-report guidelines are issued at faculty level, and each faculty publishes, or does not publish, its own. This guide explains where the real rules live, what the Faculty of Management publishes today, the structure most PU programmes expect, and what to confirm with your own campus before you format a single page.

Where PU thesis rules actually live

PU works through its faculty offices and constituent campuses, and the faculties do not all publish in the same place. The Faculty of Management maintains a public download list on its own website. As of October 2026 that list carries the Master's Dissertation Guidelines 2083, the Internship Guidelines 2083, the Master's Seminar Course Guidelines 2083, and the Dissertation and Viva Voce Examination Evaluation Criteria 2083. (2083 BS runs from mid-April 2026.) These are the current faculty-issued rules for management programmes, and they are revised by year, so a senior's printed copy from an earlier batch is not a safe reference.

Students in science and technology, humanities and social sciences, law, education or medical sciences should go through their own faculty dean's office or campus administration. The main university site lists the faculties and their programmes but does not host a common thesis format. If your faculty publishes nothing online, the written format exists somewhere: as a dean's office notice, a campus handout, or a section of your programme's curriculum document.

What the management faculty's document set tells you

Even without reading every PDF, the Faculty of Management's list shows how a complete PU rule set is organised, and it is a useful checklist for any faculty:

If your faculty's list is missing one of these pieces, ask for it by name. The viva evaluation criteria in particular are worth requesting: they tell you the marking split between the written document and the defence.

The structure most PU programmes expect

Faculty documents override everything below, but the common pattern across Nepali university dissertations, including PU's management programmes, is:

Treat this as a completeness check, not a format. The chapter titles, the numbering style, the referencing style and even the order of the preliminary pages are exactly the things faculty documents change.

What to confirm with your campus before formatting

If your campus cannot produce a written format

Ask the campus administration for the faculty office's download list or the dean's notice for your batch, and ask to see the evaluation criteria before you finalise. The Faculty of Management's published set is a reasonable example of what a complete rule set looks like, but it binds management students only. Do not format a law, education or science thesis against a management document.

Tell us what you need checked and when it is due. Your document is checked without being stored in any student-paper repository, so the check never counts against your real submission. The reports come back with what each match means, not just a percentage.
